CHiPs presents: Party, Murder & Mystery!
You are invited to a surprise birthday party with a killer twist! Set in a cosy
Italian restaurant, birthday celebrations quickly turn deadly. It will be up
to you and your team to uncover clues, expose the lies and catch the
killer&Will you manage it before dessert is served? Choose Friday or
Saturday 4 October 3 7.30 in the Village Hall. Tickets priced at £20 include
murder mystery and dinner. Bar available to purchase drinks. All proceeds
split between the school9s PTA and local charities. Details on how to book

Village Hall Annual Report 2025

The Hall is in a good financial position. It has retained existing bookings and
brought in new ones, so revenue has increased. The hire charge review that
took place has increased business by reducing the Friday and Saturday
evening and Harris Room rates. The minimum hire period was also
reduced.
We also introduced free hire for certain village-wide events as part of our
charitable commitment.
Renewed agreements with the WI and Pre School have been put in place.
The Hall Manager, Angela Baker, has been instrumental in creating more
business with social media and acting as a link with existing and potential
hirers. We have placed adverts in the local Edenbridge Magazine to create
more use over the summer period.
The website has been refreshed and content and policies upgraded.
Repairs and Maintenance expenditure was below that in 2024, but we are
still planning maintenance over the summer. All lighting has been
upgraded to new LED fittings to improve light and reduce costs.
Reserves have improved over the year. The aim is to have two years9
revenue in reserves. We have slightly more than that, but a number of
projects require funding that will absorb the excess. I am conscious of the
position of halls without adequate reserves that find themselves
fundraising and grant-chasing when problems arise.
Whilst maintenance costs were lower last year, we are about to carry out
the following works:
