We are very sad to report the sudden death of Janice on 2 May and send
our sincerest condolences to Mark and his family. We hope to publish a

Tanzania Update
In April Sandra Taekema van Tiggelen gave a lively and enlightening
presentation about recent developments on the water project in Kongwa.
Money had been found to enable solar power and a drip irrigation system
to be installed near the borehole at Mkwala School, and in January crops
were planted on the adjacent smallholding. These were enthusiastically
tended and harvested by the pupils. So much so, that this message was
received from Mariamu, the Head of School:
Greetings to our Dear Ones in Crockham Hill.
We, your brothers and sisters from Mkwala, are doing well and continuing
with our duties in building the nation. Please receive our sincere gratitude
from the students of Grade Six and Grade Five after receiving their share
of vegetables from our garden, which we established after acquiring an
irrigation system. They have nothing to give you in return, but they pray
that God's blessings be upon you and your generations as well. Have a
wonderful day. Goodbye.
Charity of the Month
Mkwala School
In June last year, Sandra Taekema van Tiggelen and Louisa Quessy travelled
at their own expense to Kongwa to inspect the work done to install a water
supply borehole at Mkwala School. This and solar panels and drip feed
irrigation was funded by the generosity of Crockham Hill residents so that
crops could provide food during the exceptional droughts caused by
climate change. They would now like to raise sufficient money for a similar
project to help another school. Contributions can be made online to Holy
Trinity PCC, sort code: 40 52 40, account no: 00014196, using your name
and the word 'Water' as the reference (e.g. JSmith Water) or by cheque
made payable to Holy Trinity PCC and sent to Tony Rogers (Treasurer) at
Quinces, Hosey Common Road, Westerham, Kent TN16 1PP.
