but nervously excited, I took to

first challenge I set myself to
mark my 70th Birthday. Both
frightening but exhilarating, it
was definitely a wow moment
I'm never going to forget. I tried

wonderful local Air Ambulance. It is never too late to donate and, should

I was talking to David Stafford and his research into Dairy Lane. We talked
about the (very good) Crockham Hill Newsletter. He mentioned that there
was no 'Letters' space. I suggested a 'Feedback' page where readers
commented on or added to articles. The current issue has lots of feedback
from me, probably too much, but it could keep the interest going and even
help to develop some topics.
It's 40 years since we moved into Acremead in Froghole, and although we
only stayed there nine years, we still think we live in Crockham Hill.
The latest CH Newsletter reminded me what a welcoming and friendly
place the village is. When we moved in to Acremead, our neighbours,
Freddie and Ann Beasley organised a combined leaving party for Ivan
Sutton and a welcome party for us. That's how we got to know so many
people so quickly, and through Felicity's school of course.
After a while, we were invited to dinner with David and Helen Richardson
whom we hardly knew at the time. The other guests were Peter and Ann
Cantlay, and General Peter and Rosemary Pellereau. And that's how I
